Velocity Swim Bash!!

VELOCITY YOUTH will be at 4pm this Sunday and we will be having our activity at the Black's home off of Turner Rd. Bring a swimsuit (please be modest) and towel. We will have drinks, food, fellowship, and tube rides on the boat!! Bring your friends it will be great!!

VBS Luncheon

YOUTH.....This Sunday June 26! VBS LUNCHEON

starting at 10:30am we will be setting up for the VBS Luncheon and then we will help serve lunch for our church family and visitors!

All of the donations will help send our kids and youth to summer camp!! Please make sure you are there to help and participate in a great event!!

FAMILY Astro's Night May 28

ALL FAMILIES, May 28 our church will be attending an Astro's game, it is Faith Family Night and with your game ticket you also get to see a great concert featuring Jeremy Camp! The cost is $20 per ticket and we have great seats in section 128, if you want to reserve your spot please email or see Morgan. We have a limited number of tickets, so don't wait too long!!

Soul Surfer Movie Event!

Youth and their families, join us Friday, April 22 to see the Soul Surfer movie. We will leave the church at 12pm and head to Cici's Pizza and then Cinemark in Texas City. The cost is $3 per person for the movie and about $10 for lunch! We will then return to the church around 4:45pm. Families are encouraged to come, we will also need drivers for this event!! Please let Morgan know if you will be attending!!

Spring Break Out!!

Spring Break-OUT!

Time to get out of the house during Spring Break and do some mission work and enjoy this great spring weather!

March 14 from 10am – 3pm we will meet at the Wesley House to do some work on the house, time to make it sparkle! Lunch will be provided.

March 16 from 10am-4pm, let’s head to the beach for some shopping and sun! Bring money for lunch and any shopping.

March 18 from 9am-5pm, we will load up and head to Eagle’s Lift Ministries and help them with work on their property, there will be something for all skill levels! Lunch is provided.

We will need adults for all of these events and possibly drivers. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering.

When: April 29-May 1
Where: Camp Piney Woods
Who: 6th-12th grade students and adults (must have a 1:6 ratio)
Cost: $100 (scholarships available)
Deadline: March 27

This is a conference style retreat for youth, they will have the opportunity to hear a great speaker, Dave Edwards and enjoy great worship by The Museum. They will also have the chance to go into break out groups and learn about things they are interested in. We will have seminars for them to sign up for when the camp date get closer. Piney Woods has great facilities and is a wonderful chance for your youth to have an unforgettable weekend before the busyness of school finals!

UM Army & Big House Forms

Forms are here, and will be due soon, so please get me your forms and deposits if you are planning on attending either of these mission trips!

Dates of trips:UM Army- June 12-18 in Teague, TX (youth leaving 8th-12th grade & adults)

Big House July 14-17 in Wharton, TX (youth leaving 6th-8th grade & adults)

 UM Army Deposit is $75 (total cost for UM Army $214 if you do not participate in fundraisers & $107 if you do participate)

Big House Deposit is $50 (total cost for Big House $100 if you do not participate in fundraisers)

      Remember we will also need adults for these trips, if you are interested I need a form from you also!!

Forms are due back to Morgan by March 28, you can find forms outside Morgan's office or on the bulletin board in the Narthex!

Wednesday night FREEDOM IN CHRIST

THIS WEDNESDAY....we begin our "Freedom in Christ" study. 

Time: 6-7:30om

Where: Girls at the Walker's home (502 Acacia)

              Boys at the Hester's home (5105 Winterwood)

This study is going to be wonderful and will give everyone time to catch up on their weeks and also dig in to learning about being a great disciple! I hope to see you all there, please email me if you have any questions!

Chili Cook-off

DON'T FORGET SATURDAY IS OUR CHILI COOK OFF
Set up begins at 3:00 pm and the cook off will start at 5pm!!


The money donated at this event will help provide scholarships for Lakeview Summer Camp, please come help and enjoy some great chili and funny judging!!


You can also enter your own chili or bring a side item or desert to share with everyone, the staff will judge the chili's and there will be some pretty funny awards.

Velocity this Sunday

Velocity is back on this Sunday....
Jr. High will be talking about "Faith the Leaves a Mark" beginning at 6pm
Sr. High will be talking about "Buddism" beginning at 6:45pm


We will also start off in the Wesley house with some great worship from our very own PB4J...don't miss out! I will see you all Sunday!

Chili Cook-off

YOUTH get a group together and make a pot of chili, you could have the winning mix!!!

Come join us for a fun evening and bring your CHILI!

                   All chili will be judged by the LCUMC staff!!!

             Saturday, Feb 5^th at 5:00pm in the Family Life Center.

*A donation of $7.00 a person or $20.00 a family is appreciated. All proceeds are used for children/youth District Camp scholarships. Also, you may bring a non perishable food item to add to for the “souper bowl of caring” food drive.

* Donations of grated cheese, onions, crackers, corn bread and desserts are also needed. You may offer to donate by filling out entry form.
