Velocity Youth January News!!

The Spring semester is here and we are looking to do some awesome things with our Velocity Program.

Velocity officially begins January 8 immediately following 11am service until 2pm.

Here’s the 411 on what’s new….

We will continue to have Velocity every Sunday afternoon from about 12pm-2pm, but each week we will have different opportunities for the youth to participate in.

1^st and 5^th Sundays will be sack lunch and open gym time

2^nd Sunday outing and mission week

3^rd Sunday birthday month celebrations

4^th Sunday praise and worship

I am praying with all of these new activities that your youth will find a place that is nurturing to their personality.  You will continue to get emails and texts each week with details on that Sunday’s events in case we are going off of church property.

ENGAGE….

We will begin ENGAGE January 18, from 7:00-8:30pm. We will begin a new small group study and head to some of our favorite local hang outs to study His word.

Beach House Retreat

January 27-29

We will meet at the church at 6:30pm on Friday (please eat dinner before you come)

We will return on Sunday at 12pm.

Cost is $75

We will head to Surfside beach in Freeport for a weekend of fellowship and worship with our friends. We will be discussing some of our favorite traditions and how our passions can relate to our passion for God!! Come join us to see whar all hype is about. RSVP by January 19.

If you want to attend this event please email Morgan by September 1 to reserve your spot, we will also need adult chaperones!!
We will be leaving the church at 5:45pm and return at 7am on the 10th!

Velocity Swim Bash!!

VELOCITY YOUTH will be at 4pm this Sunday and we will be having our activity at the Black's home off of Turner Rd. Bring a swimsuit (please be modest) and towel. We will have drinks, food, fellowship, and tube rides on the boat!! Bring your friends it will be great!!

VBS Luncheon

YOUTH.....This Sunday June 26! VBS LUNCHEON

starting at 10:30am we will be setting up for the VBS Luncheon and then we will help serve lunch for our church family and visitors!

All of the donations will help send our kids and youth to summer camp!! Please make sure you are there to help and participate in a great event!!

FAMILY Astro's Night May 28

ALL FAMILIES, May 28 our church will be attending an Astro's game, it is Faith Family Night and with your game ticket you also get to see a great concert featuring Jeremy Camp! The cost is $20 per ticket and we have great seats in section 128, if you want to reserve your spot please email or see Morgan. We have a limited number of tickets, so don't wait too long!!

Soul Surfer Movie Event!

Youth and their families, join us Friday, April 22 to see the Soul Surfer movie. We will leave the church at 12pm and head to Cici's Pizza and then Cinemark in Texas City. The cost is $3 per person for the movie and about $10 for lunch! We will then return to the church around 4:45pm. Families are encouraged to come, we will also need drivers for this event!! Please let Morgan know if you will be attending!!

Bring yourself and your cakes early to help set-up and display your cakes!
If you are going to UM Army or Big House this is part of your fundraising to have your trip cost discounted! Please don't miss out, this is a fun and exciting event!

Spring Break Out!!

Spring Break-OUT!

Time to get out of the house during Spring Break and do some mission work and enjoy this great spring weather!

March 14 from 10am – 3pm we will meet at the Wesley House to do some work on the house, time to make it sparkle! Lunch will be provided.

March 16 from 10am-4pm, let’s head to the beach for some shopping and sun! Bring money for lunch and any shopping.

March 18 from 9am-5pm, we will load up and head to Eagle’s Lift Ministries and help them with work on their property, there will be something for all skill levels! Lunch is provided.

We will need adults for all of these events and possibly drivers. Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering.

Forms are in for Break-Thru 2011

When: April 29-May 1
Where: Camp Piney Woods
Who: 6th-12th grade students and adults (must have a 1:6 ratio)
Cost: $100 (scholarships available)
Deadline: March 27

This is a conference style retreat for youth, they will have the opportunity to hear a great speaker, Dave Edwards and enjoy great worship by The Museum. They will also have the chance to go into break out groups and learn about things they are interested in. We will have seminars for them to sign up for when the camp date get closer. Piney Woods has great facilities and is a wonderful chance for your youth to have an unforgettable weekend before the busyness of school finals!
